Opening Day Thoughts

Well, Opening Day came and went on Sunday. Highlights on the field included big wins from DcCityball mainstays the Swingers, Bayside Tigers, and the Masterbatters, as well as from newcomers McLovin and the Free Agents, among others.
A.A.R lost a close one to the Blue Team on field 4, while the Sharks nipped the Giant Pandas up on field 6.

The performance of the weekend came from the new-look Potomac River Ducks who defeated the Mad Cows, despite the Cows scattering a mere 26 runs on 35 hits. Get em next weekend, Cows.

Off the field, the NL Fall Pennant Holders the Pourhowzers were handing out and signing their custom 1987 Topps Series baseball cards -- according to my 2008 Topps Pricing Guide, a signed Justin Kolikof rookie hologram card is currently going for approximately 7 cents, on auction. The card series, which was conspicuously lacking a certain famed umpire, comes complete with stats, checklist, gum, and the feeling of taking things a bit too seriously.

DcCityball is looking forward to another successful Spring season, despite the reappearance of Gang Green, and their...captain

But seriously, good luck to all teams involved. DcCityball (myself included) is always glad to see its teams back year after year, and warmly welcomes all the new teams.
Stay safe and have fun.
-Play ball.
